Australian Bushfire Relief

January saw the return of our famous Tim Tam and Lamnut doughnuts – two limited edition flavours which have become a staple in our annual calendar. This year carried extra weight in importance as we donated a portion of sales to WIRES Australian bushfire relief fund.

The Australian Bushfires have had a devastating impact on the country, causing widespread destruction at an unprecedented level, impacting people, the environment and wildlife. It has been estimated that well over 1 billion animals have been affected across Australia since September.

To help those in need, we wanted to do our small part by donating a portion of all Tim Tam and Lamnut sales to WIRES – Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation.

We were completely blown away by the response and sold a record number of Tim Tam and Lamnut doughnuts. We’re proud to announce that we raised a total of £3,036 for WIRES! A massive thank you to everyone who placed a pre-order, went in-store or ordered a box on-demand.

How is the money being spent?

WIRES, which is based in New South Wales, Australia, has been caring for wildlife for over thirty years, distributing financial support to smaller volunteer organisations, Veterinary Associations and other leading environmental groups to support their contribution to the wildlife rehabilitation sector.

In response to the catastrophic fires and droughts, WIRES is actively pursuing significant opportunities to help wildlife across the whole of Australia (not just NSW), including partnering on projects to improve long-term outcomes for native animals.

To find out more about how the donations are supporting Australian wildlife, head to the WIRES website here.

We would like to thank everyone for their support!
